State Universities Retirement System

State Universities Retirement System (SURS) is a public pension fund based in Champaign, Illinois. Established in 1941, it was founded by The Governor and General Assembly as an administrator of benefits for employees of the University of Illinois. The pension fund provides retirement, survivor, disability, and death benefits to the employees of public universities, community colleges, and other affiliated state agencies. The pension fund's investment is governed by the executive management team.
