The Abraaj Group (Abraaj) was a direct investment firm based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Established in 2002, Abraaj was a private equity, venture capital and real estate investment firm specializing in early venture, seed, growth capital, mid venture, late venture, expansion capital, industry consolidation, mezzanine, subdebt, buyouts, bridge, recapitalization, infrastructure and buy and build in mature companies. It was built for operating in the growth markets of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Turkey. It also operated from Dubai, Istanbul, Mexico City, Nairobi and Singapore.
