NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company was an insurance company based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Established in 1975, the company started as a policyholder-owned and physician-directed medical professional liability insurance carrier that provides coverage to physicians, healthcare extenders, medical groups, hospitals, community clinics, and allied healthcare facilities throughout the country. The assets were managed by the board of directors. NORCAL Group is now part of ProAssurance and offers a full spectrum of medical professional liability insurance solutions to physicians and other healthcare providers.
