Maryland 529 is a public pension fund based in Baltimore, Maryland. Established in 1997, the plan provides retirement, annuity, health, and disability benefits to eligible government employees. They manage a pre-paid tuition trust as one of three plans. The other two plans are participant-directed (akin to DC plans). The plan consists of three savings plans - the Maryland Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer Prepaid College Trust, the Maryland Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer College Investment Plan, and the Maryland ABLE Program. The assets are governed by the board of directors.
