Ford Foundation
Ford Foundation is an independent, non-profit private foundation based in New York City, New York. Established in 1936, the foundation focuses on eight issues, which are human rights, democratic and accountable government, educational opportunity and scholarship, economic fairness, metropolitan opportunity, sustainable development, freedom of expression and gender, sexuality, and reproductive justice. The foundation is governed by a fifteen-member board of trustees that sets policies related to grantmaking, geographic focus, spending, investment, management, governance and professional standards, internal and independent audits, and compensation and performance reviews.
