Employees' Pension Plan of Longview Fibre Paper & Packaging

OTHER
Longview, Washington, United States

Employees' Pension Plan of Longview Fibre Paper & Packaging was a single-employer corporate pension based in Longview, Washington. The plan provided retirement and pension benefits to the employees of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, an American pulp and paper company, that was acquired by KapStone Paper and Packaging in July 2013. The name of the Plan was however retained. The KapStone Paper and Packaging maintained the Plan and the Union Hourly Retirement Plan of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging. The purpose of the Plan was to provide pension benefits for all salaried and non-bargaining hourly employees. As on 31, 2014, the Company determined that it is in the best interest of the participants of all its defined benefit plans to merge the plans and, accordingly, merged the Longview Retirement Plan and the Longview Pension Plan into the KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation Defined Benefit Retirement Plan ("KapStone Pension Plan"). The Plan was administered by a Pension Committee appointed by the Board of Directors of the company. This plan is no longer in operation and is not actively tracked by PitchBook.
