Department for International Development

Department for International Development (DFID) was an economic development agency based in London, United Kingdom. Established in 1997, the agency aimed to eradicate poverty and saved lives when humanitarian emergencies hit. DFID was responsible for making British aid more effective by improving transparency, openness, and value for money, improving the coherence and performance of British international development policy in fragile and conflict-affected countries, and targeting British international development policy on economic growth and wealth creation. The management board was responsible for the administration of the firm.
