Chan Zuckerberg Foundation is a foundation based in Palo Alto, California. Established in 2015, the foundation is a philanthropic organization that brings together world-class engineering, grantmaking, impact investing, policy, and advocacy work. Its initial areas of focus include supporting science through basic biomedical research and education through personalized learning. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The assets of the foundation are managed by the board of trustees.
