Skype was a Corporation based in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. Established in 2003, the firm was a proprietary telecommunications application operated by Skype Technologies, a division of Microsoft, best known for VoIP-based videotelephony, videoconferencing, and voice calls. The assets were managed by the executive team. Microsoft officially retired the service on Monday, May 5, 2025. They are focusing on Microsoft Teams as their primary hub for communication and collaboration.
